The 31st meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Christchurch New Zealand (23 June – 2 July 2007) offered an opportunity for the Pacific Island State Parties to bring the heritage of the region to the attention of the World Heritage Committee and to also gain from exposure to the processes of the World Heritage Committee.
