PIMA’s Training Courses
“PIMA gave us training and information that was uniquely relevant to one’s own museum”
PIMA has delivered a series of very effective workshops funded by a range of donors in different locations throughout the region have addressed many of the basic needs of museums and museum professions working in the region. These courses are based on the philosophy that there is a need to teach conservation practices which are practical for the environmental, cultural and financial conditions of the Pacific region. This is made even more pressing by the fact that most Pacific museum and cultural centre personnel have had minimal formal training or experience in working in a properly maintained and funded museum institution.
